Announcing… Out of Sight Out of Mind exhibition returns in 2026! (Just a bit differently)

The Planning Group and CAPS are delighted to announce that the exhibition has been successful with the City of Edinburgh Council’s Local Events Open Fund. When added to the GoFundMe donations, enough has been raised so that a smaller 14th Out of Sight Out of Mind exhibition can happen this year!

This means if you have experience of mental health issues, you can be seen and heard using art this October. We have a reduced amount of funds, so OOSOOM 2026 will be a bit different, but it’s still going to be amazing.

We don’t know exactly what this will look like yet. It won’t be the usual large multi-gallery exhibition. However, the ingenious Planning Group have started work and are busy plotting something that will…

  • Enable hundreds of people with experience of mental health issues to take part in art

  • Present an exhibition in one of the galleries at Summerhall

  • Happen between 18 Oct and 8 Nov 2026

  • Be part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival

  • Invite people to see and celebrate our art

But…don’t start making your art just yet!

‍The Planning Group will let you know what can be submitted, and what else they are conjuring up for OOSOOM 2026.

‍A second announcement will follow in July, by email and on the website: www.outofsightoutofmind.scot
